About

From our humble beginnings above a garage in Ohio to our continued expansion across North Carolina into Mississippi, Kellex has experienced tremendous growth over the past three decades.

Kellex Founded

Kellex was founded above a garage in Norwalk, Ohio by a visionary team of just three.

Business Development

In order to continue to expand to meet our clients’ needs, we opened our first Corporate Office in North Ridgeville, OH, and a Sales Office, located in Duluth, GA.

Carolina on My Mind

In anticipation of future expansion, our Sales Office was relocated to Hickory, NC.

Growth

Fueled by opportunity and manufacturing capacity necessity, Kellex purchased Norwalk Furniture’s North Carolina operations. This vertically integrated, 355,000 square foot manufacturing complex in Valdese, NC was complete with sawmill, frame and upholstery operations.

This same year, we introduced our Senior Living Division, Tranquility by Kellex.

Make it Here, Make it Happen

The inauguration of our domestic manufacturing Initiative: “Make it Here, Make it Happen- Supporting US Manufacturing”, bringing awareness of both the national importance and an individual’s impact of choosing products manufactured in the USA.

Dining Seating

After several years in the fully upholstered seating business, Kellex entered the domestic dining seating market.

Streamlined

Kellex streamlined our manufacturing process further by opening a foam fabrication plant at our Valdese, NC manufacturing complex.

Expansion

Expanded our upholstery capabilities by acquiring an additional 97,000 square foot frame and upholstery plant in Tupelo, MS.

Further Expansion

Purchased a 198,000 square foot former case goods and wood facility in Morganton, NC further developing our wood product opportunities.

Our Mission

Thirty years ago when Kellex Seating was founded, we had two goals: to become the best domestic furniture manufacturing partner to our customers and to provide employment opportunities to our local families and the communities surrounding our factories. We vowed to provide our customers with quality products made by our local craftsmen with unforgettable personalized service. These are the cornerstones of the "Make it Here, Make it Happen" movement. Since then, we have continued to work together every day knowing that our reputation is our word and we proudly stand behind every piece of furniture that ships out of our doors.
